Today the Day of Knowledge was celebrated at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
The event was attended by well-known faces of the country and graduates of the university. In particular, the chairman of SouthOIL LLP Serikzhan Seitzhanov, public figure Shalatai Myrzakhmetov, world champion Aliya Yusupova and Major General Vladimir Nakisbaev congratulated the young students and wished them success in their future studies.
Auezov University is one of the largest and most fundamental universities in the country in terms of the number of students. This year, more than 3,000 students were admitted under the state educational grant. In terms of the number of state grants, Auezov University took the third place in the republic, and as a result, about 7,500 thousand students were enrolled in the 1st year. Of these, about 100 are owners of the "Altyn Belgi" badge.
In addition, this academic year, the geographical boundaries of the university have increased. Among the enrolled applicants there are students from Mangystau, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Karaganda, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions.
In addition, 133 kandas and 255 foreign citizens from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Japan, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan applied for the foundation educational program.
Famous singers of our country performed at the festive evening, and a concert and incendiary program was organized for students.
