November 17, 2018the fourth in-person meeting of the Congress of the Republican Public Association “Qazaq Geography” was held in Astana with the agenda of the day: 1. On amending the Charter of Qazaq Geography. 2. On the election of members of the board of trustees. 3. On the activities of Qazaq Geography over a 5 - year period (2013 - 2018). The congress was attended by members of the board of trustees, the managing council, heads of regional offices (including the head of the South Kazakhstan office, associate professor of our university, Dr.Sc. B. Tasbolat) Qazaq Geography staff and guests (Minister of Culture and Sports - Mukhamediuly A., akim of Astana city - Sultanov B., president of the corporation “BAZIS-A”, etc.). The meeting was chaired by Qazaq Geography chairman Mamin A.U.

A reporting report was made by the chairman of the board of Qazaq Geography, J. Rustem. Qazaq Geography was established on October 16, 2013 on the initiative and with the support of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Masimov K.K. Over the past 5 years, Qazaq Geography has become one of the leading organizations for the development and dissemination of knowledge about nature, society and culture, known in Kazakhstan and abroad.

Qazaq Geography works in five directions: geography and climate, environment and natural resources, biodiversity, tourism - travel and local history, historical and cultural heritage and ethnography. Currently, 11 regional representative offices, including the South Kazakhstan, have been opened in Kazakhstan. During the reporting period, about 60 projects were carried out, 10 expeditions were carried out, 13 scientific and educational books, newsletters, booklets and maps were published.
